Synopsis:

Little did I know; his secrets were also mine. When his past is revealed, I lose it. The man he claimed to be was a man I’d known all my life.

Declan is more than just the start of an MC series. It’s the start of an Erin Trejo MC series which means it contains intrigue, intensity and of course some hot sexy scenes. Plus it contains characters that are likable and perfect for the storyline and each other.

The storyline starts out when Declan is a young boy and he’s forced by his father, the Soulless Bastards MC Prez at the time, to kill the cop that took Declan’s mother’s life right in front of the boy’s eyes. Declan has no regrets about killing the cop but he was forced to do so in front of his two young daughters. To some it was an eye for an eye but to Declan he remembers the pain in the young girl’s eyes and that incident shaped him into the man he is today.

The story fasts forward to Declan as a man. His uncle is now the Prez and he is the club’s VP. Declan is as tough as they come and lives for the club. We also meet Brooke. She is one tough young lady. She lives down the road from the club and during a game of truth or dare with her friends, she is dared to go to the club and ask for a beer. Of course Brooke takes the dare and that is when she meets Declan. Dec is called to the gate and ends up giving her heck and dishing out nothing but trouble. But trust me when I say Brooke gives as much as she gets when it comes to Declan. Dec ends up walking her home and taking advantage of the situation, something he soon regrets. The trouble is, Brooke keeps coming back to him asking for more of the same. Declan knows Brooke is something special and not like most of the women he hangs around.

When Brooke’s uncle is killed and things start falling apart around Brooke, can she trust Dec and the club to help her? When secrets of her past come to light will she stay the strong tough woman Dec has come to know or will she finally crumble? The storyline is sexy, flirty, fast paced and action packed. Ms. Trejo will take you on one amazingly wild ride that you don’t want to miss out on. 2 Thumbs Up for a great start to what this reader predicts being a phenomenal series. So bring on book 2, I am sooooo ready and can’t wait!

I have never been disappointed by Erin Trejo’s MC books and this one did not disappoint. This book has a storyline and characters that deliver intrigue, excitement, raw emotion, hot sex and two lead characters that made for each other. A storyline that begins with the murder of a cop by a teenage boy in front of the man’s two young daughters and brings them full circle in adulthood. The chemistry between the two when they first meet is off the charts and only intensifies as the story progresses.

The characters and supporting characters are well written and very well defined and somewhat complex. Brooke, well this woman is not some shrinking violet. She’s tough, smart, sassy, beautiful and can fight just about any man, allowing her to protect herself. She’s not scared of very much, especially the tall baker that she meets after taking a dare. That biker…Declan, VP of the Soulless Bastards MC is one hot piece of man candy. He’s hard as nails, brash and takes an instant liking to the brave and sassy Brooke. She intrigues him at first. She should be afraid of him, but she takes what he dishes out and even dishes out right back. But being the alpha that he his he needs to take control. What happens next will even have your eyes opening wide.

I totally loved this story and the characters and I cannot wait to read the next book in this new series! Bring on the Soulless Bastards…I’m ready for more and I know you will to. HIGHLY recommend this book!
