“HERO” from Lauren Rowe’s series; The Morgan Brothers. (review below)

    Synopsis:

A standalone contemporary romance in the MORGAN BROTHERS SERIES from USA Today Bestselling Author Lauren Rowe. The story of firefighter Colby Morgan that proves heroes come in many forms . . .

The first time I laid eyes on Lydia Decker, I couldn’t speak. Or breathe. Or string two coherent thoughts together.

And I don’t mean any of that figuratively.

I’m not talking about a guy being floored by the sight of a gorgeous woman—although, of course, Lydia is gorgeous beyond words.

No, when I first laid eyes on Lydia Decker—my physical therapist—I was lying flat on my back in the ICU, high as a kite on painkillers, breathing on a ventilator, my bones as broken and splintered as my spirit.

When I first laid eyes on Lydia Decker, she was a ray of light in the dark. Hope for the hopeless. A salve for my singed and battered soul.

She said she’d been assigned to fix me. That she was there to bring me back to life. She said helping me was her calling.

And then she touched me. Physically, emotionally, spiritually. She healed me.

    And I fell in love.

But what I didn’t know… what I couldn’t possibly know… was that Lydia Decker needed fixing far more than I ever did.

    Review By Barbara:

OMG The Morgan Brothers are just Too Much! They are Funny, Hot, Sexy, Romantic, Protective, Family Oriented, Possessive, and the list goes on and on. Kudos to Momma Lou for raising four crazy yet amazing boys and one crazy and lovely daughter and double Kudos to Ms. Rowe for writing these wonderful characters. They are all so well written that you will feel like you know them intimately and you’re part of the family. All the boys are unique and special in their own ways but that is very true with Colby (Affectionately known as Bee, Cheese, Cheese Head, Cheese Puff, etc).

Colby is a fire fighter that has been dubbed a Hero for saving a baby in a house fire. Sadly he’s terribly injured and has a long road ahead of him to recover. While he’s in the hospital he meets Lydia, the physical therapist assigned to work with him. Sparks fly when they meet but there are sooooo many factors against them ever acting on those sparks. Both are broken, both are recovering from a terrible tragedy and for Lydia she has 3 children that she has to consider. (along with a few other things I won’t spoil and put in this review).

This book will touch so many emotions. You’ll find yourself laughing, crying, smiling, frowning, happy, angry and blushing (especially with Peen in the house – lol). The storyline is heartwarming, tender and at times intense. But through it all it’s one amazing story that I highly recommend reading. 2 thumbs up for this wonderful 5 start read.

    Review By Kathy:

Have you met these brothers?? NO??? Well the first you would have read about would have been Keane Morgan aka, Ball Peen Hammer. Now, well you get to read about the oldest brother, Colby. And what a heart wrenching story it is. Now, it’s not all tears and heartbreak, some of the tears are happy tears and you will weep right along with them. This book will definitely play with your emotions. Now, if you have read Ball Peen Hammer, you know that these siblings are a total trip. I mean they tight, loyal and they tease each other mercilessly and will have you rolling with laughter. And yes, they are all visiting in this story about a second chance at love, getting over loss and moving forward and getting over your aversion of the idea of love at first sight. You will blow through this book like a fire blowing through a building and it will definitely trap you inside.

The characters are wonderfully written and you will fall in love with not only Colby, but Lydia, Theo, Izzy and little Queen Bea as well. Colby is hurt on the job and Lydia is the physical therapist who is determined to fix him, to bring him back to his top physical health. But Lydia needs a little more fixing herself and it will take everything Colby has inside of him to help her reach her top mental health. No, she isn’t crazy, but she has suffered a huge loss and even though she feels that she is ready to move on and love Colby, something isn’t quite right.

This is a beautiful story of love and family and I cannot recommend this book highly enough.
