The Book Review Express Review Corner brings you
“His Sweetness” from Leah Sharelle’s series; The Wounded Souls, MC. (review below)
I am so f**king in love with you, Charlie, that I can’t see straight.
DECK
Ex-Commando Deck Johnston has a busy life. He is the boss of a successful construction company, the co-founder and sergeant at arms of the Wounded Souls MC, and a single father to a three-year-old, blue-eyed, raven-haired princess, who has a liking for swearing, toy guns, camo, and pink tutus.
Deck’s life is full, and he isn’t looking for anything more.
That is until the sweet ballet dancer and his daughter’s daycare teacher comes along and knocks the weapons expert on his arse.
CHARLOTTE
Charlotte’s life is not going the way she had expected. An injury ended her career too early. She is in debt to her cold-hearted family, drives a POS car, lives in a shoebox, and owns an abnormally large cat that hates her. She didn’t expect to fall for the father of her favourite student, but with one look into his sapphire-blue eyes, her life is turned upside down.
In their way to love, will Deck trust Charlotte with his daughter? Will he let her help him beat the PTSD ravaging him from his years of deployment?
Will Charlotte find the love she has always craved and finally get the Happily-ever-after she has always dreamed about
OMG WHAT A BOOK…. TOTALLY LOVED IT.. This book has it all, laughs, insta love, tough bikers with a tender side (especially for one potty mouth preschooler), and lots emotion. The author has done an amazing job of taking the reader on a journey they won’t forget anytime soon. The storyline and the characters fit just perfectly together. I love that this is a biker book but not your everyday one. While the guys are as tough as they come, all of them being former soldiers, they aren’t about breaking the law but more about mending themselves and others. All of these former soldiers suffer from some sort of PTSD and their brotherhood keeps them going. (Don’t get me wrong, they can throw down when it’s needed).
This is Deck and Charlie’s story. These two fall hard from the moment they say hello. The journey the author takes you on with these two will melt your insides. Both have been through a lot of heartache and troubles but just maybe they have found something that they can hold on to for once. Or can they? I won’t spoil that and say more but trust me their story is a must read.
One thing I will say is Shiloh steals the show, at least she did for me. OMG what a perfect little character she is…. remember the mention above about a potty mouth preschooler – well meet Shiloh. She is all pink, girly (sugar and spice) except for her black shitkickers and her biker vocabulary. But then if you were raised from the day you were born by 10 alpha tough bikers that all are former soldiers, you’d probably grow up talking the same way. Trust me this little girl is 100 percent a showstopper and she had the entire club and her dance teacher (Charlie) wrapped around her little fingers.
I can’t recommend this wonderful book enough. LORDY if I could give it more that 5 stars I would in a heartbeat. 2 thumbs up for a great book 1 to the series and I look forward to reading about the rest of the gang, because trust me I just know this series is going to be outstanding.
Wanna take a slow ride that will slowly accelerate and bring your emotions through several twists and turns, giggles and laugh out loud moments, tragedy and heartbreak??? Well this is the book that will do just that. Not your normal MC, this book doesn’t have the rough and tough brothers who go around knocking heads, beating the bad(der) guys, no this is a good guy MC and the storyline is amazing.
The characters are wonderfully written and have an instant love, but don’t think it ends there..oh no…just wait and see what happens. I loved Deck and Charlie, but I really loved Shiloh, the little imp! She will have your sides aching from laughter!
This is a wonderful read and I hope you all give it a chance. I highly recommend it.
Deck and Charlie are all about insta love, mixed in with a bit of tragedy and heartbreak. Unlike most insta love books they don’t end the second the hero and heroine declare their love. Instead the plot thickens and Leah keeps the story flowing with ease.
I have no doubt there will be more books as the ending leaves questions unanswered that I know will be revealed in her other books.
Keep your eyes peeled these bad boys all need someone to love!
Leah Sharelle:
I love the idea of being in love. Since my early teens when I first discovered Silhouette Desire novels my life has been all about reading. I would find myself re-writing scenes if I wasn’t happy with them and hiding them under my bed. That led me to writing love stories of my own. They all ended up under the bed and are still there, and there they will stay. I don’t do angst, in fact it drives me crazy.
I am a mum of three beautiful girls, Australian, and have what most say is a weird sense of humor.
I spend my free time doing movie, Sons of Anarchy, and Friends marathons. And reading.
I love Pina Colada’s and getting caught in the rain….. there’s that weird humor.
