Synopsis

A modern way of finding love. One deserted island of luxury. Two people. Three out cards. And a whole lot of possibilities.

Melinda takes the advice of her best friend, Chris. She signs up to a new dating service that pairs you statistically to the one you’re supposed to love. Finding it — love that is — using the more conventional methods, has not been a successful venture for Mindy, and with her biological clock ticking, she uses a more desperate method and takes the plunge into a possible happily ever after.

The thing is, when she boards the boat to a secret location, she doesn’t realise the man waiting for her is someone she’s previously met.

Chance encounters occur more frequently than we realise. Being blind to them is part of a bustling world. But, being faced with them can lead to a hilarious three weeks between two opposites who might just attract.

What a Hilarious yet Delightful Story. I love when I find a book that is funny, crazy good and simply entertaining, and that is exactly what “That Guy” was for me. It’s a fast paced, funny romance rolled up into a great storyline. The book is very well written and will keep you smiling from chapter to chapter. As for the characters, the author has done an outstanding job there as well. As a reader we feel their plights in life and share their emotions right along with them. One thing I will say, whomever Ms. Brooks based Melinda’s Bestie Chris on, is one guy I would love to meet. The boy is a hoot and a half and I think every woman in the world needs a guy like Chris in her corner (Flying Dildo’s and all).

All Melinda wants is a chance to meet a nice guy and be loved. She’s about to turn thirty, she a clutz and trust me if it can go wrong, it’s going to go wrong to Melinda. After a horrible blind date, and a few very embarrassing encounters with a sexy stranger named Arlie, Melinda has all but given up on finding a boyfriend let alone true love. But her Bestie, Chris, has her sign up for a reality show: 3 weeks on a deserted island with the supposed match of her dreams. Needless to say, Melinda wins and is whisked off to paradise, only to find the guy they’ve matched her with is none other than the sexy Arlie. Let the fun begin.

If you like fast pace RomComs, “That Guy” is definitely a must read. I can’t recommend it enough. Just be prepared for people to look at you funny while reading this one, because you’ll be smiling, laughing out loud and crying OMG every step of the way. 2 Thumbs up for a great read.

A brilliantly written, side splitting, mouth full spitting, stomach aching laugh a minute read that will definitely have you gasping for air. Who knew vibrators could fly??? Characters that will grab your attention and hold you captive not only by their charm but their antics. I would really like to say so much more about this book but in doing so I think I would definitely give away some of the best parts of this book and this book should be read without a whole bunch of preface, you just need to get it, start reading and laugh your butt off!

I cannot recommend this book highly enough and I will say…if I ever need a mood lifter..I will just open this book and begin reading it again. Excellent read and tremendous kudos to the author on a job well done!
